A few months ago a news item was leaked stating that Amazon was working on a cheaper alternative to AirPods from Apple to enter the lucrative world of Bluetooth headphones. As the months have passed, these rumors continue but also add new data.
According to CNBC, these headphones will be managed by Alexa, although not independently, since they will have to be linked at all times to a smarpthone (iOS or Android) to be able to offer this functionality. In addition, it will include a series of sensors to measure the distance traveled, the calories burned, the steps taken ... just like the Bragi and Samsung IconXs offered us (which we all know how they ended up).
The price of this device will be around 100 dollars, a price very similar to what we can find the Galaxy Buds (one of the best wireless headphones with the best value for money), about 60 dollars cheaper than the AirPods without wireless charging (we are talking in dollars, not in euros). Sound quality will also be one of the main virtues of these wireless headphones, where the AirPods do not stand out especially.
At the moment we do not know when Amazon plans to present these new headphones, but it should not take long if you do not wante lose the Christmas sales pull. These headphones will not be the only novelty that will be presented soon, since a renewal of the Echo range is also expected, adding better sound quality to make this device the main speaker in homes, which would be a serious problem for the Sonos, as long as the quality is equal or superior.
