Apple cancels Elvis Presley miniseries over Weinstein Company scandals

Apple cancels Elvis biopic

A few days ago it was attacking the main covers that businessman Harvey Weinstein had been denounced for sexual harassment for decades with Hollywood stars. The news was assaulting strongly and this has made Apple will rethink its agreements with Weinstein Company.

The directors of the company came to the fore to report that Harvey Weinstein had stopped working immediately and thus, perhaps, alleviate a bit the informative bombshell that had fallen on them. However, this has not made Apple said "no" to the creation of the biopic by Elvis Presley that had been agreed with the company at the beginning of this year 2017.

Likewise, Apple wants to give a boost to the creation of its own content for Apple Music. And the Elvis Presley miniseries that it could have been composed of 8 or 10 chapters, It has been canceled according to sources close to it. Now, for now, Apple has not conformed - or denied - the leaked information.

In the agreement they had reached with the Weinstein Company, Apple had in mind to continue a biopic saga of such popular characters as Michael Jackson or the more recent late Prince.. Also, the Weinstein Company had reached an agreement with the Presley family to be able to use the entire Elvis music catalog during filming, as well as to use the mansion at Graceland and other properties.

On the other hand, to achieve even more success in terms of your own content, Apple wants Apple Music franchises as powerful as James Bond; get a series with Jennifer Aniston or produce a series in true Game of Thrones style. For all this new content to come, Apple earlier this year hired two former Sony executives to run the video division of the Cupertino service.
