Apple Hires New Super Thin Circuit Board Supplier for Its Mini LED Devices

A new vendor enters the list of component manufacturers that supply Apple to assemble their devices. It is the constant evolution of products designed in Cupertino. This supplier manufactures PCB boards thinner and stronger, and will be installed behind mini-LED display panels.

DigiTimes just released a new report where it explains that Apple will use super thin rigid PCB boards provided by Tripod Technology on your upcoming iPad mini and MacBooks with mini LED backlighting.

Explains that Apple has added Tripod Technology Corp. to the supply chain of upcoming devices with displays mini LED from Apple due to the manufacturer's good cost control and production management capabilities.

According to DigiTimes, the manufacturer will share orders for mini LED backlight modules with the Taiwanese PCB supplier Zhen ding Technology, but you will need to purchase high-precision drilling machines and other automation equipment in order to make the models requested by Apple.

Tripod has already started trial production of sample superfine rigid plates, and the new fabrication facility would be ready to begin mass production early in 2021.

It is Apple's intention that in time, all of its devices that have a screen will be with mini LED technology, as it allows for thinner and lighter product designs, while offering many of the same benefits of screens. OLED used in the latest iPhones, including good wide color gamut performance, high contrast and dynamic range, and local dimming for truer blacks.

Kuo says that all the next screens that Apple will mount will be mini LEDs

According to the analyst Ming-Chi KuoApple has six mini-LED display devices in the works that will debut in late 2020 and early 2021. It says the company will feature this technology in a 12.9-inch ‌iPad Pro‌ for launch later this year, followed by an iMac. 27-inch Pro, 14.1-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch ‌‌‌MacBook Pro‌‌‌, 10.2-inch iPad. and a 7.9-inch mini ‌‌‌iPad‌‌‌.
