Apple Music falls to fifth place in latest Brand Privacy study, overtaken by Spotify

Apple Music

Sometimes, it seems that there are many people with a lot of free time and to try to occupy their time, they dedicate themselves to doing surveys of the most diverse. According to the latest Brand Privacy study, Apple Music, which last year topped this peculiar ranking, it has fallen to the fifth position, being overtaken by Spotify.

The study on Brand Intimidation, made by MBLM, compares social applications and platforms by measuring the emotional science of the links that people establish with brands. To each company or service you are assigned a quotient based on your survey responses.

Apple Music ranked first on the MBLM list last year, but it seems that this year, things have not gone so well, since has been overtaken by Pinterest, Spotify, Pandora and Instagram in that order. Spotify is the number one brand. for men while Pinterest is for women.

MBLM surveyed a total of 6.200 consumers in the United States, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates to obtain this data. The consumers interviewed were between 18 and 64 years old. As we can read in this study:

Although it is a ubiquitous part of our daily routine, app and social platform brands continued to underperform in our 2019 study. These brands are perceived as free utilities. They are at the lowest level of the smartphone ecosystem and trust is now becoming a key challenge as these brands try to mature. However, strong artists like Pinterest are creating powerful bonds, especially with women.

If we talk about brands and not products, this same company published the same study in February, a study where we see how YouTube is the first ranked followed by Apple in second position and Netflix in third.
