Apple Music and Tencent reach a collaboration agreement

Lossless Apple Music

The Asian giant Tencent and Apple Music have reached a collaboration agreement to include the catalog made up of millions of songs in Apple Music, an agreement intended to distribute Chinese music around the world via Apple's streaming music platform.

Tencent Music Entertainment Group affirms in the statement where it has announced this collaboration that all the content of this group will be available outside of China for the whole world via Apple Music.

Bringing Tencent Music Entertainment (TME) premium music content from Chinese labels and creators to Apple Music users around the world, will allow music lovers to explore China's Sunni culture and music genres, further enhancing the global discovery of Chinese music and assisting in the international development of Chinese musicians.

Thanks to this agreement, users will see expanded the catalog available in Dolby Atmos and Losslessas TME is bringing "a large volume of high-quality new music in collaboration with industry partners."

Tencent Music Entertainment Group claims the company attracts "Hundreds of thousands of Chinese musicians hoping to achieve their musical dreams through their platform."

This agreement is in addition to the purchase agreement that Apple reached a few months ago with the purchase of Primephonic and also to expand the available catalog of classical music.

I sincerely believe that the classical music catalog of Apple Music can attract many more enthusiasts of this genre than billions of Chinese songs.

It is also likely that this agreement was imposed from the Chinese government. Everything that comes from Apple and China together, we always have to take it with a grain of salt.
