Apple has renewed all 27-inch iMac today

iMac

I was going to write that Prosser an hour ago said that a new iMac was going to be launched today, and I didn't have time. The new 27-inch iMac with processor 9th Gen Intel iXNUMX is now available in the Apple Store.

A new model of 27-inch iMac based on the previous ones, with some internal modifications, like the new Intel processor, yes yes, 9-core Intel i10 and something else. No redesign, and no ARM processor.

Apple has just updated its website, and without making noise or warning, it has renewed all versions of the 27-inch iMac. Now you can buy an iMac with a 9th generation Intel i1080 processor, and a webcam (finally) with XNUMXp resolution.

Apple has also standardized storage solid SSD and Apple's T2 chip. The 21,5-inch iMac also incorporates such a chip and SSD storage as standard, leaving the obsolete Fusion Drive as an option on request.

In terms of specs, the new 2020 iMac feature 27th-generation Intel processors in all 9-inch versions. There is also a 10-core iXNUMX option for the first time in the non-Pro iMac. You can expand the memory of the machine up to 128 GB of RAM.

The storage system is now based on solid state by default, which can be configured up to 8 TB. Apple is finally including the T2 chip inside the iMac, offering high-bandwidth read and write speeds. The T2 chip also brings security benefits, as we have seen deployed in the rest of the Mac line in the last five years.

The only visible external change is that now you can choose the 27-inch screen as an option nanotextured, first seen on the Pro Display XDR.

27-inch iMacs now have the same 1080p FaceTime camera than the iMac Pro. Apple has also upgraded the microphones to its latest "studio-grade" system, which the company debuted with the 16-inch MacBook Pro last year.

Prices for the new 27-inch iMacs start at 2.099 Euros and they are available to order from today. The base model features a six-core CPU, 8GB of RAM, a Radeon Pro 5300 GPU, and a 256GB SSD.
