Apple hires an executive from Broadcom Video and Viacom for its streaming video service

And we continue talking about the movements that Apple is making to start launch your video streaming service, a streaming video service that could see the light of day in March next year at the earliest, as we informed you just over a month ago.

As Apple shapes its project, the Cupertino-based company continues to expand the number of people who will be in charge of managing this new business with which Apple wants to become an alternative to Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Disney… The latest move that the company has made is found in the signing of a former Broadway Video and Viacom executive.

As we can read in Variety, who seems to have become the Apple's official spokesperson in this new sectorKelly Costello joins the ranks of Apple as a business executive, signing directly to Apple's global charge d'affaires for video platform Philip Matthys.

Before joining the ranks of Apple, Costello was executive chairman of business and legal affairs at Broadway Video, a company founded by Lorne Michaels and in which he was in charge of creating offers and reaching content agreements, among which we find Portlandia and Documentary Now.

But, before being part of Broadway Video, Costello spent 7 years at Viacom, where his responsibility increased over the years, ending up as vice president of business and legal affairs for Music & Entertainment Group. Before Viacom, I also spent time as a business manager at NBC Universal Television.

With this new addition, Apple wants to continue expanding the number of agreements in order to continue expanding the number of series and / or films with original content that the company plans to create.
