Apple TV + secures the rights to a book on Hurricane Katrina

Today it is his turn to talk about a mini series entitled Five Days At Memorial, in the novel of the same name by Sheri Fink, winner of a Pulitzer Prize, and directed by John Ridley (winner of an OScar award) and Carlton Cuse (winner of an Emmy award).

Five Days At Memorial tells the story of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina through New Orleans, a natural disaster that caused thousands of fatalities and in which Apple contributed financially like many other tech companies.

This book-based mini series recounts the first 5 days in a New Orleans hospital since Hurricane Katrina made landfall. When the waters rose, the electrical supply began to fail and heat increased. Hospital doctors they were forced to make life and death decisions that will haunt them for years.

This miniseries will be exclusively on Apple TV + although at the moment it is not known when. If they do things right, and opt for big names, this new miniseries could have the same or similar success who has had to defend Jacob.

The author of the book, Sheri Fink to executive produce alongside John Ridley and Carlton Cuse who will be in charge of writing the script and doing the showrunner work. John Ridley won an Oscar from the Hollywood Academy for the film 12 years of slavery in the Best Adapted Screenplay category. Carlton Cuse won an Emmy Award for the series Lost within the Executive Producer category.
