Apple sentenced to pay $ 625 million to VirnetX in patents

For many of us, having to pay an amount like the one we are talking about in this article would be the ruin for a lifetime, but for a company which is worth more than $ 300.000 billion doesn't look the same.

In this case, it seems that the company with the bitten apple is going to have to pay an amount of 625 million to the VirnetX company. in respect of certain patents that have not been respected as they should.

Apple has been found guilty of knowingly infringing four patents in a dispute with VirnetX and has been sentenced by the courts to pay 625 million dollars in damages.

The patents in question refer to virtual private network (VPN) protocols and that is why the jury has decided that Apple's services, FaceTime and iMessages together with the iOS devices that support those services, infringe the patents VirnetX has as intellectual property.

This fight between Apple and VinetX has been going on for many years now and since the first iPad was presented in 2010, it has already brought these problems of patent usurpation by the company with the bitten apple on its devices. In 2012 a jury found Apple guilty and ordered to pay an amount of 368 million dollars that Apple later appealed. It seems that this time things have gone wrong and the 368 million have finally increased to the 625 million dollars that they must now face.
