Will Apple change the name from OS X to Mac OS?

Mac OS-El Capitan-name-0

You will wonder why I ask myself this question at this point and the reason comes because a portuguese developer called Guilherme Rambo has found an interface file within OS X called FUFlightViewController_macOS.nib within FlightUtilities, which uses macaos terminology in the file name on OS X 10.11.4.

Surely it does not have any direct relationship with a name change, however the nomenclature of all others Apple systems always refers to the device on which it runs in question, that is, systems such as iOS, TVOS or watchOS, so ... Why not Mac OS?

Mac OS-El Capitan-name-1

Even so and assuming that possibly in the future Apple will consider changing the name of OS X to better fit the line of its mobile devices, that is, the Apple TV, iPhone and Apple Watch. It would also make sense to change it and thus launch Mac OS 11 this year, along with the new versions of the operating systems with iOS 10, watchOS 3 and TVOS 10 which could be a great year.

OS X is based on UNIX and has been around for 15 years, so it's probably time to start renaming. Originally the name of OS X has always been associated with big cats (Cougar, Guepard, Jaguar, Panther, Snow Leopard and so on), now for a couple of versions, the Apple team has called these versions with all kinds names related to California, such as it already happened with Mavericks, Yosemite or El Capitan.

There is no reason why Apple should not continue with this line of names, only that if it made the operating system match the name of the device it would leave things a little clearer for clients.

If it changed its name, the future version released would be MacOs 12, 11 is the current one ...

How little does the writer of this article know about the history of Apple Systems, let me know it was in 2012 when Apple's OS stopped being called Mac OS X and was renamed only OS X with the move to version 10.8 (Mountain Lion). Although personally I would like it to return to the original name. Attached photo of About 10.7 and 10.8.

The correct title would be: Will Apple change the name OSX to Mac OS?
