Apple is planning to open a new Significant Store in downtown Chicago, as we see in a new report which states that the Cupertino-based company is focusing its efforts on moving the previous Apple Store that is already open in the city to 401 Michigan Avenue within the Magnificent Mile and thus inaugurate another of its significant store, that is, one of the most important stores of the company that it has spread all over the world.

This new "flagship store" of Apple will be built mostly below the ground, as we have seen in different stores recently opened in Asia or without going any further, the mythical store on Fifth Avenue in New York. On the other hand and according to the Real Chicago Daily Estate, this new opening would help to further strengthen the area as a reference location to go shopping.

Once Apple has opened the store, this would be accessible at street level through a new glass structure in Pioneer Court plaza. Most of the store's space would be planned to occupy the space below the plaza that was formerly used as a food court for the office building where it will be located.

The Chicago-based Zeller Realty Group currently owns the aforementioned 35-story building, which has companies based in the same such as ABC Inc., Accretive Healthcare, Fidelity Investments, MTV Networks and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Apple opened its 2800-square-foot store at 679 N Michigan Avenue on the Magnificent Mile since 2003. By moving this store to the southern end of the famous shopping mile, Apple could help bring a wave of new stores and retail businesses to the area.
