General Motors announced that by 2016, its luxury car division 'Cadillac'will feature improved connectivity y control, thanks to the addition of Carplay y Android Auto.
General Motors says Carplay will debut in all Cadillac models coming out in 2016, and will feature 8-inch multi-touch screens. Production of these models, which will be released in 2016, will begin this summer, with the exception of the SRX, which will be released in early 2016. Android Auto, will make its debut at end of 2016 in Cadillacs.
The transformation in Cadillac cars includes continuous improvements in connectivity and technology. In 2015, Cadillac became the first luxury brand, to boast wide use, from wireless charging y 4G connectivity, LTE, Wi-Fi, and now in 2016 we are moving rapidly to improve phone integration and overall system performance. Says David Leona, Chief Executive Engineer.
Apple introduced Carplay, in the spring of 2014, as a «smarter, safer way to use your iPhone in the car«. Several automakers have pledged their support for Carplay, but even a year later, there are already cars that already have it integrated. Also, as we publish in the following article, the GM CEO confirms 14 Chevrolet cars will launch with Carplay this year. Furthermore, even CarPlay will be in future Porsches, which suggests an imminent technological future in the automotive world.
Apple is believed to have bigger plans for the auto industry than carplay, and it is rumored, that Apple is working on its own car, which will be out in a few years.
