Apple and Amazon will be investigated by topics related to audiobooks and this is an issue that is not new to both companies. Apple has long been mired in trouble over the books in its store and alleged monopolies. The case of Amazon is exactly the same and the online sales website is also one of those that is well aware of this type of complaints / investigations for unfair competition and unfair marketing clauses for publishers, not so long ago they were investigated by the European Commission thus.
The Cupertino company has already faced a lawsuit for the reasons that it is being investigated right now in Germany, in the United States in 2013 and 2014. Now according to the competition control body in Germany, with Andreas Mundt at the helm, will investigate the agreement between Apple and Amazon for the sale of audiobooks.
These two companies would be in the lead in terms of sales of this type of books in Germany and that is why the authorities of the country want to investigate this alleged monopoly denounced by the country's associations and bookstores. It seems that the conditions imposed by the two giants for the sale of books do not convince the publishers and they ask that the "general conditions" that they require for the commercialization of their books be revised.
For their part, Apple and Amazon have not commented on the matter regarding this initiation of the investigation. We imagine that if the results of it turn against Apple and Amazon, more news will arrive soon.
