What will Mojave adoption of cross-platform really look like?

MacOS Mojave background

In the last Keynote that Apple has held as the opening presentation of WWDC 2018, one of the novelties that were presented was the new macOS Mojave. An operating system that will come to Mac in the fall and with which the curl of many tools that already existed in the system for years is curled.

One of the things that they made totally clear is that the iOS and macOS systems are NOT going to come together, they are not going to merge, something different than if they are going to work together so that multiplatform applications arrive for the first time, applications that will be able to work on both iOS and macOS.

Apple does not plan to bring together the iOS and macOS systems, since if they do that, they know that users would stop buying or iPads or Macs. How do they want the two product lines to continue, what they have thought is that the confluence of various functions between systems can be made.

Now, little or nothing has commented on what that implementation would be like. The fact is that developers, for the first time, will be able to model their applications so that in a closer than distant future they can run on both iOS and macOS. Although the company's computers do not have touch screens, they do have large touch surfaces that are very suitable for this fusion.

Do you think Apple is on the right track with this type of merger? Will Apple be preparing the confluence of systems thanks to the confluence of new common processors? Without a doubt it is something that in 2019 we will already have more than clear.
