If you are not convinced by Safari 6 we will show you how to install the previous version in Lion

It seems that even with the minor updates that Apple is releasing for its default browser, it is not managing to solve all the problems that it has dragged on since appear together with OS X Mountain Lion. Many of the users who use it have already been leaving their experiences and problems in different support forums with crashes, bugs or unexpected closings in it.

Let's remember that currently the latest version is in 6.0.4, even with everything still suffering from high resource consumption with spikes of up to 75% of CPU usage on rare occasions, something that seems that by now should be fixed but they are still working on it because it keeps happening.

Another change for the worse from my point of view is that cookies cannot be blocked selectively nor does it empty the cache completely, safari always reads the cache before loading pages so the disk usage is higher. The only advantages are those provided by the security field where it has been ostensibly improved from previous versions with the much-used Java theme, even patching in 6.0.2 a zero-day security hole, that is, a bug very important and that must be taken into account when thinking about installing the previous version.

Returning to the matter at hand, if you are still convinced install Safari 5 The first thing we will do is open the terminal and execute this line:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

With this we will go to this folder in the path Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Apple To erase .SafariArchive.tar.gz. If we can't find it or we've already deleted it we will open the terminal again and we will write cd / Applications, once inside, just delete safari with this command sudo rm -rf Safari.app/.

Finally, it only remains to download version 5.1.7 by clicking on this link and install it.

Hello, I try to follow the tutorial but it does not work because when I try to install Safari 5.1.7 it tells me that I need OS X version 10.7

I answer you, because I see that nobody answers you, the tutorial says that it is for the S.O Lion, not Mountain Lion.
