Lately everyone that surrounds Apple computers is somewhat mixed up and it is not for less since those of Cupertino presented the new MacBook Pro, with existing processors and focusing improvements on the design or the appearance of Touch ID or Touch Bar.

However, about iMac or Mac Pro they did not report anything. Its processors and capabilities have not been updated nor have their features been improved so users who are interested in buying one of these units wonder if Apple will update them shortly or not.

Once again, Apple is holding hands and feet by the giant Intel, which after all is the one that has the upper hand when it comes to processors that are put on the market. Right now it has Skylake 14 nm processors in production, which are the ones already assembled by the latest Apple computers, some processors that have very acceptable performance and very moderate consumption, but up there.

As you may already know, one of the causes that the new Apple MacBook Pro can't be sold with 32GB DDR4 RAM is that they are not compatible in their portable format with current Intel processors so we would have to wait for the next batch of processors to see Macbook Pro with that amount of Ram.

However, not all is bad news and our colleague Jordi Jiménez told us a few days ago that it is very possible that Apple updates both the iMac like Mac Pros with new processors in 2017, this is in a couple of months.

Now we can inform you that Intel itself has revealed that it has already prepared what will be its next processors, the seventh generation and will be called Kaby Lake. The documents that Intel has developed for the collaborating companies report the existence of 11 new quad-core processors that will be put into production during the first quarter of 2017. They are also manufactured with the same 14-nm process with which the from the Skylake range. Of the 11 processors we have seven Core i5 models, three Core i7 and one Xeon E3 v6.

So if you plan to spend the money on an iMac and are not in a rush to do so, wait until 2017 and enjoy the new Kaby Lake processors that are sure to make the iMac or Mac Pro fly even more.
