Mac futures can carry ARM Chips, according to a meeting held in Cupertino

Intel and Apple already working on ARM chips for future iPhones and iPads

A few hours ago we learned that Apple invited several journalists to a round table held in Cupertino. Several topics related to Mac were discussed. Among them: the recent announcement of the Mac Pro renewal, the possibility of a Mac with touch screen and the incorporation of Chips ARM in future Macs. These new processors would replace the current Intel. Although it is not clear from all the published information: when they will be replaced and if it will be totally or gradually. Some users even think that some Macs could be hybrids: carrying Intel and ARM chips at the same time.

The company has no plans for the touchscreen on a Mac, or for machines that work only with the ARM type of processors, used on the iPhone and iPad.

However, executives left open the possibility that ARM chips could play a broader role as the company's processors, something that first appeared with the T1 processor that powers the Touch Bar in the new. MacBook Pro.

Once again, Marketing Director Phil Schiller gave a Resounding "no", when asked about the possibility of seeing a Mac with a touch screen.

That's another lengthy discussion, but suffice it to say, it's not a huge need for Mac Pro clients.

Phil Schiller advanced months ago that they had valued a Mac with a touch screen, but that after several tests, these were not convincing. Surely after these tests, they decided to implement the Touch Bar in the new Macs.

The relevant part of the news is the announcement of the use of ARM Chips in future Macs. It is true that the company does not intend to completely replace them, but to start working with them. These are Chips with lower consumption and in some cases, with better benefits. We are used to seeing novel structures in the design of our Macs, such as the implementation of Fusion Drive. It is no wonder some such surprise.
