The heart of this situation seems to be in the severe production delays and logistical problems. Therefore, it seems that the problem arises on the part of the third-party providers that Apple relies on.
Lenovo continues to lead the shipping market with a total of 12,8 million PCs shipped, closely followed by HP, although it is already one million fewer. Apple is relegated to a fourth position, with a total of 3,2 million Macs shipped. In the first quarter of 2019, 4 million were shipped, which is 21% less.
Demand has increased due to confinement that the world suffers from the coronavirus, because now many more people need a Mac to work from home. Due to this situation, the second quarter is expected not to be so good. Of course, it will depend on how the global pandemic evolves.
