It seems that some macOS 12.2 users are experiencing some battery drain issues on their Macs due to installing this version of the operating system. In some Reddit forums, Twitter threads and other places on the net they are showing high consumption of their Mac after putting the computer to sleep and with the latest version of macOS installed.
It is not entirely clear what would be the cause of this battery discharge in the equipment, but rumor has it that it could be due to Bluetooth. In this sense, we can see how the battery drains drastically in sleep mode on some Macs.
The latest version of macOS has some bugs
Affected users say their Mac battery life drops from 100% battery life to 0% while in sleep mode overnight since the latest update was installed. macOS Monterey 12.2 official version:
Whoa macOS 12.2 21D49 (the current version) is behaving like Windows! Battery went from full to 0% while on sleep mode overnight. anyfix, @AppleSupport? pic.twitter.com/w1kdJXyU7r

@Apple tweeps: macOS 12.2 breaks something related with bluetooth + sleep/wake. Looking at `pmset -g log`, it seems like it spent all night waking up every few seconds for bluetooth and drained all the battery. [FB9862509] https://t.co/5IF81PVw3P pic.twitter.com/qczeDKD5oX

It is important to note that not all users are having the problem, but it is true that a good number are appearing on the network in recent hours. In this sense, Apple may already be working on this problem of sudden battery discharge. It is understood that in the first beta version of macOS 12.3 released a few days ago, this problem should already be solved but there is no hint about it in the release notes either.
