Martin Scorsese looks to Apple TV for funding for his next movie

Since Apple TV + was officially released last November, Apple's streaming video service has gone increasing its catalog every month, whether in series, film or documentary format. Although he has encountered some problems along the way (The Banker), the intention to support the film industry is still present.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Martin Scorsese is seeking funding for his next film, a film titled Killers of the Flower Moon, after seeing how, once again, Paramount Pictures does not want to go ahead with the project, as already happened with The Irish, this director's last film that ended up on Netflix.

This new film would have Leonardo DiCaprio as the main protagonist and his budget is close to 200 million dollars, a problem for Paramount that has forced Scorsese to seek financing on Netflix and Apple TV +, since it is not willing to make such a high investment.

The Irishman, the last film by Martin Scorsese, only trained in 45 theaters in the United States, before its launch on Netflix, therefore, the box office collection could only cover a small part of the investment made by the giant of streaming video, an investment that reached 175 million.

This point could be a plus point, so that this new movie finally ends on Apple TV +, as Apple. Those of Cupertino are in favor of premieres their films in cinemas before their launch in their service of video in streaming. Also, most likely, you will reach an agreement with Paramount, so that this handle the distribution in theaters and Apple put the money to carry out this new production of which we know little or nothing.
