Melbourne residents can now use Apple Maps public transport information

Again we have to talk about the new function that Apple released with the arrival of iOS 9 and that we allows you to consult all the information about public transport, information that allows us to move around the city without having to use our own vehicle, taxi, Uber or similar or if we are visiting the city having to resort to a rental car. In mid-April, Apple added New South Wales, Australia, as a city that supports public transport information. This time the selected city in Australia is Melbourne.

Thanks to this new update they are already three cities in Australia offering information on public transport: Sydney, Melbourne and New South Wales. The information that Apple offers about public transport in Melbourne corresponds to public transport, tram, metro and bus network.

The last cities that are also compatible with this service have been Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Columbus. Previously they were the cities of Atlante, Georgia, Miami, Florida, Portland, Seattle, Honolulu, Hawaii, Kansas City, Missouri and Sacramento. Outside of American territory we find the city of Rio de Janeiro and Montreal.

The next country where this information will be available is Japan, which will probably come from the hand of Apple Pay to the country, as reported by Apple in the last keynote. At the moment it does not seem that Spain or any other Spanish-speaking countries other than Mexico City (where this information has been available for a long time) is in Apple's future plans to add this type of information, so we are going to having to continue using Google Maps to be able to move around the city while we wait for this information to arrive on Apple Maps.
