Mexico, along with Brazil, are the only countries in Latin America that today have official Apple stores. In fact, both countries can now pre-order the Apple Wath Series 3 LTE, being one of the few countries where it is available today. But expansion plans in Mexico go further.
As we can read in AppleInsider, the Cupertino-based company, has obtained the necessary permits to build a store next to the Antara Fashion shopping center, located in the exclusive Polanco district of Mexico City, according to sources related to expansion plans in Mexico.
The initial plans of the company in Mexico City, went through use the space previously occupied by the Crate & Barrel chain, which closed last year, a space is attached to the Antara Fashion shopping center, but Apple dismissed the idea and prefers to use an empty space located next to the shopping center. Apple will build a one-story flagship store that will likely follow the same layout as the latest flagship stores the company has opened in the past year.
This store will have the traditional points of sale in addition to a single meeting for customers. As we can see in the image above, the contractors have already placed the corresponding barriers from the main building to the area where the construction will take place. In this space, the company is expected to build an outdoor plaza.
Apple's flagship stores have large public areas, not only for customers, but also for those who want to hang out in the store or in its vicinity. They also have private rooms for meetings with clients. Works are expected to start shortly and finish before the end of next year.
