The macOS Mojave update is not the only one relevant in the last few hours. Microsoft has released a new version for macOS of its office suite, Office 2019. What we mainly find in this paid version are the features offered in the Office 365 subscription service.
The information is obtained from a news published in The Verge. In the article they tell us that we will mainly see functions offered by Office 365, but in the Mac version, paying just one view to enjoy them. With this version, we will find updates for all Office applications, including: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Outlook.
We miss new Office features, which are present in the Windows version of Office. This does not help bridge the gap between the Windows and Mac versions. Those who use Office applications intensively on a daily basis cannot fully exploit the full potential of Office. Everything seems to indicate that, Microsoft wants to differentiate the versions of its software for each of your operating systems.
However, among the novelties we find:
- Word integrates an approach mode to work centered on the text, without distraction with the buttons, trying to imitate the minimalist text editors of the moment.
- Excel incorporates support for 2D maps, as well as new calculation functions.
- PowerPoint now allows you to insert and manage icons, VMS and 3D models. On the other hand, it allows you to export videos in 4K format.
- Outlook supports @metions, with priority inbox, travel and delivery summary cards, as well as new email templates.
Some options that are present in the Windows 10 version, such as Project, Visio or Publisher, are not available in the Mac version. On the other hand, business services such Exchange, Skype, SharePoint and Project Server 2019 are not available in the initial release, but they will be incorporated in the coming weeks. Office 2019 update is available from today for private customers and in a few days for the professional version.
