Microsoft drops free OneDrive storage and equates with iCloud

ONEDRIVE ON MAC

We knew that sooner or later this was going to happen and it was not normal for Microsoft to give so much space in its OneDrive cloud for free. OneDrive users who currently have data stored in the Microsoft cloud are receiving Emails from Microsoft informing them of the modification to be made to the free portion of storage.

In this way, OneDrive users who have a lot of information hosted in said cloud will have to pay for more space or go to the competition of Apple and its iCloud cloud. As of July 27, 2016, free OneDrive user accounts will now have 5GB of storage.

Until now, the free OneDrive accounts had a limit of 15 GB of storage, so as of July, those who have that space completely full will have to find their lives to relocate. the data in excess since of the 15 GB they will happen to have 5GB.

Changes to OneDrive
We want to inform you about some changes that will be made to OneDrive. On 27/07/2016, the amount of storage included in OneDrive will go from 15 GB to 5 GB. The additional 15 GB of the camera album will also be canceled. You can get more information in our section frequently asked questions.
You don't need to do anything, as your OneDrive account is currently below the new storage limits. Although this does not affect you, we want to keep you informed about all the important changes to OneDrive. If you want to check your account, you can visit the Storage page.
We are aware that these are major changes to a service that you trust, so we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We have had to make this difficult decision in order to ensure the sustainable operation of OneDrive in the future.
Thanks for using OneDrive.
