If you have an iPhone, you may be in love with Push mail, the same one that has made BlackBerry great in half the world and the same one that we have in Mail officially from Leopard but that could already be used from Tiger with some patch.
The issue is that in Snow Leopard it seems that there are problems with the Idle command (the one that allows Push to work) in the Gmail mailboxes, so I have dedicated myself to looking for the solution and I warn you that a colleague who did not work the Idle already works.
These are the steps:
- Mail> Preferences> Accounts> Let's go to the account in question.
- Display the outgoing mail servers and click on "Edit SMTP server list".
- Hit "Advanced", put custom port 465, activate SSL, accept and exit.
- We save if there was something changed and if everything goes well it will work perfectly.
