Siri CEO leaves Apple

Crab

It's no secret that Apple's personal assistant Siri has practically not received good reviews since it was officially unveiled a few years ago. despite being the first to reach the market. At the moment it seems that the expected evolution of the Apple assistant follows a different path than the one that users are waiting for.

Bill Stasior, Head of Siri for the past 7 years, just announced that he is leaving the Cupertino-based company. According to The Information, Stasior joined the Siri group in 2012, leading it, just at the moment when two of its creators left it, although they remained in the company working on other projects.

John giannandrea

Stasior's departure from the company, it is an extra effort for John Giannandrea, Apple's senior vice president of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Giannandrea came to Apple, having worked on the development of Google's machine learning system, early last year.

According to the same publication, Giannandrea's team is focusing on improving the Siri learning system, improvements that will come in the form of small updates but in order to reach the optimal level of interaction with the user, we are still going to have to wait much longer than we would like.

With the new approach that Giannandrea's team has given Siri, it is highly unlikely that we will see an improvement for this year in the next versions of both iOS and macOS. However, that for now it is Giannandrea who is in charge of Siri, until Apple finds someone else, is a good sign, since it is likely to evolve in a faster way than before.

What is clear is that if we want Siri to become our friend / friend of the soul, and we can uUse for more than just turning on the lights, making a call or informing us of the weather What does it do, we're going to have to wait a few years. A shame.
