The first Geekbench scores of the new 24-inch iMac appear

iMac

The first units of the orders placed for the new have not yet been delivered 24-inch iMac, and the first scores already appear on the famous Geekbench platform. That means that some "plugged in" from Apple, have already received them, to be able to publish the first "unboxings" and "impressions".

And how could it be otherwise, the first scores shown by the new iMac of the Apple Silicon era with the brand new M1 processor are spectacular. Let's see them.

The points of reference Geekbench of the new 24-inch iMac have just been released on the platform, and show that Apple Silicon iMac with an 8-core CPU achieves single-core scores of around 1.700 points, and the multi-core test of around 7.400. Again, this puts it in line with the other Apple Silicon Macs, as well as the iPad Pro M1. They all share the same ARM processor.

Spectacular scores

If we compare it with its predecessor, the 21,5-inch iMac before this new iMac M1 has a single-core score of around 1.200 points, and with the multi-core test around 6.400 when tested with the processor Intel Core i7. The configuration with an Intel Core i3 processor drops to 950 points with a single core and with several cores it reaches 3.300 points.

In short, the tests with single core They say the new 24-inch iMac is a  78% faster than the 3-inch Intel Core i21,5 iMac, and a 42% faster than the 7-inch Intel Core i21,5 iMac.

On the other hand, in the tests multicore, the new iMac is a 124% faster than the 3-inch Intel Core i21,5 iMac, and a 16% faster than the same screen size Intel Core i7 iMac.

The benchmark results indicate that the M1 iMac operates with a base CPU frequency of 3,2 GHz. The models shown in these benchmark results have 16 GB of RAM and running macOS 11.3.

First iMac M1 orders are scheduled to ship on May 21. These benchmark results that already appear on Geekbench probably come from members of the press and certain "plugged in" of the company who usually receive the first units of the new devices that Apple launches before the rest of the users.
