The latest rumor related to AirTags points to their October launch

AirTags

Again we talk about rumors related to the expected AirTags, Apple's location beacons that will allow us to locate our devices anywhere, as if it were an iPhone. These beacons seem like one of Apple's worst-kept secrets in recent years.

And I say this, because we have been seeing signs of these reconnaissance beacons since the beginning of 2019 and when we are nearing the end of 2020, they have not yet been officially announced. The latest indications suggest that could officially see birth next October along with the new iPhone.

What are Airtags

Apple's recognition beacons, dubbed AirTags, round devices with built-in bluetooth that incorporates ultra-wideband support so they can be tracked through the Find My iPhone, iPad and Mac app.

Incorporating support for ultra-wideband will allow iPhones with the U1 chip to track position more accurately than just bluetooth. This will allow finding the devices that have an AirTag incorporated to find it anywhere, since the location will be transmitted from iPhone to iPhone with the U1 chip until it reaches its recipient and can retrieve it.

We do not know how they will be attached to the devices, if through a ring or through an adhesive. As for the battery, everything indicates that will incorporate a CR2032 battery battery that will last a couple of years, so implement a wireless charging system.

From Macotakara they assure that AirTags will have support for App Clips, which will allow us to access various functions of the applications without having to download them, one of the new functions that will come from the hand of iOS 14. Will the AirTags see the light in October? Time will tell.
