The lawsuit of the Apple Store employees for the inspections of their bags or backpacks is dismissed

A few months ago, Judge William Alsop of San Francisco, granted to process a claim by Apple Store employees against the company regarding security policies in relation to inspections of backpacks, handbags or packages carried by said employees in search of stolen material.
However, the demand is not so much focused on the fact of the inspections, but on the fact that they have been carried out outside working hours continuously with the consequent loss of time that has not been paid. So it is claimed that it should have been compensated for the time necessary to review the bags for stolen merchandise.

The demand was supported by more than 12.000 current and former employees. In particular these employees have complained directly before the CEO of the company describing the fact as shameful and degrading.
The plaintiffs who submitted the documentation are Amanda Frlekin and Dean Pelle They claimed that these practices are carried out every time the sales representatives leave the store, including during lunch breaks (with the consequent loss of time), specifically an average of 10 to 15 minutes.
In the end, it seems that yesterday, Saturday, November 7, the judge ruled in favor of Apple noting that the employees could have avoided the inspections not carrying personal bags or backpacks to work. The next step, according to the plaintiffs' lawyers, will be to appeal the ruling by appeal to a higher court.
Although it seems to me that the decision to register workers' belongings is to some extent normal, I do not think it should be constant taking personal time from employees, but through surprise inspections carried out randomly, since otherwise time is systematically stolen in each of the outings to eat, being time that is not recovered later.

It seems great to me, because not trusting employees is a fault, as it is a fault that they pay a shitty salary in all jobs today, that mistrust means that companies today know perfectly well that they pay shit of salary, and that you have the right to mistrust your employees. This is because many do not make it to the end of the month but those workers who are loyal and do not steal and also endure a shitty salary deserve to take any company to court. For wasting time outside of work hours….

Because of a thief, others pay the plate. How will this end? Well, if you want to work for the house, you must accept the conditions; they sure sign a confidentiality clause.
