These are the two reasons why AirTags have not yet reached the market

AirTags concept

The theme of Apple AirTags seems like a never ending story. We have been talking about these Tile-type locator beacons for more than a year and none of the different rumors related to their launch it has been fulfilled. The latest news pointed to the month of October and came from Jon Prosser.

The reasons why Apple is delaying the launch of these locator beacons are obviously not officially known, since Apple has never spoken about them, but their existence is known thanks to the iOS 13 code. Prosser has published a video in which detail the reasons for this delay.

According to Prosser, the first reason why Apple has not yet launched the location beacons baptized as AirTags is the pandemic in which we find ourselves. The design of these is finished and ready to go to mass manufacturing, however, it seems that Apple thinks that due to the coronavirus pandemic, sales won't work as they should.

Another reason that is delaying the launch of AirTags is that Apple continues to work on different ways of fixing them to things. Prosser says that Apple has designed a keychain and that they are also working on a magnetic sleeve but that does not incorporate images as they could interfere with the operation of the cards.

Prosser now claims that the launch of AirTags is scheduled for march

Samsung already has its location beacons

Galaxy Smart Tag

In mid-January, Samsung introduced the Galaxy SmartTag, its location beacon that it works the same way Let's hope Apple beacons do. But in addition, they incorporate a physical button that we can program to perform a specific function related to the domomita of our home.
