Traffic information is now available in the Middle East

A few days ago, we informed you of Apple's plans to expand the number of cities where it can offer the information service on public transport, so this information will soon be available in Madrid, Paris and Rome, among others. But the work that Apple continues to carry out in its Maps service does not end here, since according to Apple's website, the traffic information service now available in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, information that arrives several years after being available through Google Maps.

At the moment this information is only available in the city centers of the cities Dubai, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Buraydah, Medina, Mecca, Ta'if among others. This information is the first major expansion of the Apple Maps service in the Middle East in addition to adding points of interest. Thanks to this new function, drivers users of an Apple device they will be able to know at all times the state of the traffic and receive alerts in real time of the roads that are closed for works. At the moment the navigation function is not available in any of these countries.

Since Apple removed Google Maps from the operating system for iOS mobile devices and launched its own Apple Maps service, the Cupertino-based company has gradually gone adding new services and improving the operation of the application. Both traffic information and information related to public transport were officially presented in 2015 with the launch of iOS 9.
