Two Mail Tricks Every Mac User Should Know

After the maelstrom created next to the presentation of two new iPhones you would think that everything what concerns the Apple world it will be raised around these two devices almost exclusively, but there is also room for other more "mundane" aspects such as these tricks for Mail, the perennial mail application for Mac that will make mailbox management easier than it seems.

Specifically, it will be export from Outlook on PC to the Mac version directly with a .mbox file and on the other we will teach how to alphabetize mail accounts if you have a considerable amount of them and you think some kind of order is necessary in them.

  1. Import mailbox from Outlook to Mail: Once we have the .mbox file exported from our Outlook on PC, in export file, we will save it and transfer it to our Mac, however in the option of File> Import into Outlook for Mac, we will actually see the option that there will only be to import the Outlook data file (in .olm or .pst format). But we will not find the mbox option anywhere, for this instead of choosing a data file in options we will go to contacts or messages from a text file in the same import window and we will click on the next arrow where it is already it will show us the mbox option. By enabling this, we will click the next arrow again to then find and open the mbox file. At that moment we will select the messages that should be imported as we want.

  2. If we have a large number of mailboxes in Mail with an IMAP account, we will select Mailbox> New mailbox and it should be organized alphabetically, but simply dragging it to the location we want would be enough. However, if the mailboxes within the account itself are already disorganized from the beginning, we can go to Mail> Preferences> Accounts, select the account you have such messy mailboxes and uncheck the Activate this account option. The account in this case will disappear from the sidebar, having the copies of the emails on the server there is no problem. Now what we will do is re-mark the option so that when loading them again, it will order them alphabetically.
