It's been 4 days since Apple started pre-ordering the Apple Watch in the first nine countries. The reserve figures are chilling and they have sold more than a million units in the first weekend. If this rate of reservations is continued and taking into account that little by little it will be launched in new countries, we could be talking about the fact that those in Cupertino would be able to place more than 10 million units on the market in 2015.
As you know, in the Apple Stores of those nine countries, the respective units of the watch are already available to users in different models and sizes so that they can be tested. However, for some time now we have the fly behind the ear in terms of a supposed connection port physical that the Apple Watch has on one of the sides where the straps connect.
We say that we are pissed off because that port has been seen in the open in some model of the Apple Store, but there are other models that, despite having the port in the same place, it looks covered. The port we are talking about was discovered for the first time in March after which people began to talk about if it could lead to the use of straps that increase the number of actions to be carried out by the same, and even to increase their autonomy.
However, Apple itself has not released a pledge regarding this hidden port that has a line with six contacts very similar to the connector used to recharge MacBook with MagSafe 2. We could be in front of a hidden port that in the future will have some use for the rest of the mortals or simply before the gateway to the device, by Apple , to be able to diagnose it in case of erratic operation.
The only thing we can do at the moment is to wait until April 24 to know if the units that are arriving to their buyers have that port accessible or it is simply covered and has no end-user use.
