A photographer is trapped in Vietnam by the battery of his MacBook Pro

A few weeks ago, we informed you of the new battery replacement program that Apple had created, a program that allowed users of a specific model, replace your batteries due to the risk of fire or explosion. The airlines quickly updated the list of devices that cannot be flown to include the MacBook Pro.

This has caused a series of inconveniences to all those users who during the announcement and subsequent days were traveling with an affected MacBook Pro, since they could not return using the plane. If you are in the same country, there is no major problem, since the problem is solved with the train or the car. But if you find yourself in a country that is thousands of miles away ... things get complicated.

An English Travel Photographer is currently trapped in Vietnam Because your 15-inch MacBook Pro is on the list of devices that cannot travel by plane due to the risk of fire or battery explosion. No airline lets you get on the plane, so unless you replace the battery you will have to stay in the country indefinitely.

The first time he was scheduled to take the flight back to the UK, he received a verbal warning urging him not to turn on the device during the flight, but shortly after boarding the plane, he was forbidden to travel with it. They suggested that if he wanted to fly, leave the device in the country, something that logically he did not do since it is one of his work tools.

He is currently waiting for a replacement battery arriving from Singapore, a battery that can take up to 2 weeks to arrive. The MacBook Pro model affected by this ban was on sale from early 2015 to mid-2017.
