A very small number of MacBook Air 2018 are suffering from motherboard issues

Since Apple will launch the renewal of the MacBook Pro range, with its new butterfly keyboard, many have been the users who have expressed their discomfort about the new keyboard mechanism, a mechanism that has proven to be poorly designed, forcing the company to create a replacement program after acknowledging that it is not working as it should.

This new keyboard is also available on the renewed 2018 MacBook Air, although at the moment, it seems that it has not given as many problems as with the Pro range of laptops. It is not affecting the keyboard problem but others affect him. According to a report from the company itself, a very small number of MacBook Air 2018 have problems with the motherboard.

Taking into account that this model has not been on the market for more than a year, users who have trusted this new generation, such as our reader Raúl, should not be worried, since Apple's own warranty covers it. However, if the warranty coverage time passes, as is the case in the United States where there is only one year of warranty, there is no need to worry either, as Apple takes it into account.

MacRumors has had access to an internal document that Apple has sent to all its stores, where it recognizes that a very small number of MacBook Air 2018 are presenting problems with motherboards. Initially, and to heal in health, Apple has started informing all customers that may be affected, through an email to go to the nearest Apple Store to replace the motherboard, a repair that is completely free.

According to that internal document, Apple will authorize the replacement of the motherboard during the 4 years after the sale of the equipment, provided that the repair of the equipment is possible if it presents any other type of damage. If not, and the replacement of the plate involves any other type of additional repair, this will be the responsibility of the user.
