According to Consumer Reports, both the Sonos One and Google Home Max sound better than the HomePod

Newly Apple has had to face the guys from Consumer Reports, a non-profit organization that is used by a large number of Americans to learn about the best products on the market. In late 2016, the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar faced Consumer Report results as it was not one of the company's recommended products.

A few months later, and when the Christmas shopping had already passed, and Apple had already released the updates that solved the battery problems of the MacBook Pro, and Consumer Report reconsidered his opinion, including it again in the recommended devices, a move that many users saw as a step back in their transparency policy.

But it seems not. That the body had proceeded as established. Also, in case anyone had any questions, again Consumer Reports has given Apple bad news with the HomePod. While many "experts" claim that the HomePod's sound is the best we can find on the market today, CR claims that both the Sonos One and Google Home Max sound better than Apple's smart speaker.

CR carried out different tests on the three devices in a room designed for this purpose by audiophile experts and although the sound rating of the HomePod was very good, the Sonos One and Google Home Max was superior. According to these experts, the HomePod's bass is boisterous and over-driven, while the midtones were confusing. Regarding the high tones, these are under-emphasized, resulting in a cloudy sound when compared to the Google Home Max and Sonos One.

Despite this, Consumer Report states that The HomePod is an excellent product and it will never outshine both the Sonos One and the Google Home Max. It is clear that this assessment by this body will not have been funny in the Cupertino offices, although it seems that it must begin to get used to it, since it has not been the first time that it has not obtained a higher score than the rest of the products on the market as he was used to.
