One of the options that we have available in the notification center of our Mac, is the option, Find my friends. This option came to iCloud just over half a year ago, but it was released on the OS X El Capitan operating system for Macs.

Now we are going to see how we can activate this function in the notification center and what we can use it for. In principle, clarify that with this widget active on our Mac and if we follow the location of our family or friends with the application available on iOS devices, in OS X El Capitan we can see their locations and that of people who share them from the iOS Messages app.

So let's see how to quickly and easily activate this function and start using the Find My Friends widget in the notification center. It's simple, the first thing is to open the notification center by clicking on the speech bubble in the upper right part of our Mac or using the keyboard shortcut that we saw a few hours ago on the blog. Once we have it active we just have to click at the bottom, in the edit button. Now we click on the + symbol next to Find my friends and this widget will go to the notification center directly.

Once we have this function active on our iOS device and our family and friends too, The location of five people will appear directly. We can click on the option «Show more»And we will see more than five. We can also open the card of a person from our contacts, see in Maps the location of a person or functions to zoom out and zoom in on the map at will. To move you have to hold down the mouse button or trackpad and drag. To open the Maps app in OS X with a double click in the image or person that we are seeing on the map and check the traffic or public transport if this Maps function is active in our city.
