AMD's New Navi 2X GPU May Bring Ray Tracing to the Mac

AMD Navi 2X

It is known to all that Macs are not designed to play the most demanding games of today with ease. With every new game that comes out, the more machine you need to run it decently. Those that are programmed for consoles are limited to the specific characteristics of each one of them, making the most of them.

For PCs, you increasingly need more powerful GPUs to be able to play fluently. AMD is working on its new range of GPUs based on the Navi 2X chip. At last some non-Nvidia graphics cards support Ray Tracing. Considering that the GPUs in Macs are from AMD, it could be that they will be incorporated into the next Apple computers. Dreaming is free.

AMD is developing a new range of graphics cards based on a new architecture called Navi 2X. This new chipset will be able to calculate images with the Ray Tracing system, a very spectacular way to generate 3D images with incredible light reflection calculations.

These new GPUs won't arrive until the end of the year, and little is known about them. They will be compatible with Ray Tracing, which until now was the exclusive theme of Nvidia GeForce RTX cards. It will also incorporate 3D audio, faster loading times, and a new generation of exclusive games.

An example of what a game with Ray Tracing system looks like is the following video where we see the well-known Minecraft treated with this system on an Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU. It is spectacular.

At the moment only Nvidia graphics cards are capable of processing this 3D image calculation system in real time to be able to play, but this will change with the new GPUs from AMD.

Navi 2X will be on the new PS5, Xbox Series X ... and new Macs?

This chipmaker has already announced that These new Navi 2X processors will be incorporated into the new consoles that are currently being developed such as the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X. Little joke.

Considering that AMD is the current manufacturer of current GPUs for Macs, it is not unreasonable that new Apple computers are already being developed with these graphics cards. We will be waiting for new news.
