AMD's new claims it's faster and more efficient than Apple's M1 Pro

M1-Pro

Apple introduced Apple Silicon a few years ago and with it its new chips. Some processors that have turned out to be efficient, intelligent and fast, very fast. In fact, they have become the enemy to beat. So it is not surprising that every time a company brings out new processors or chips, the first thing it does is compare them with Apple's. That has made AMD who says that his new creation is faster and more efficient than nothing more and nothing less than Apple's M1 Pro. This we have to tell.

Everything arises in the middle of CES 2023 that he is developing right now. So the news that reaches us is of a chip that probably still has months to go on the market. However, it looks so good that it is necessary to echo it. AMD has announced a set of new chips for laptops and desktops. They refer to the new series of AMD Ryzen 7040 processors, intended for for those laptops that are ultra slim and that they will compete with Apple's M1 Pro and M2 chips. Intended for use in Apple's best and flagships. There is nothing.

These AMD Ryzen 7040 are based on the 4nm process. But we have, on the other hand, the Ryzen 9 7940HS family, with eight cores, 16 threads and 5.2GHz boost speeds. And in this case, its CEO affirms that it is up to 30% faster than Apple's M1 Pro chip. In specific tasks, AMD claims that the chip is 34% faster on multithreaded workloads than the M1 Pro and 20% faster than the M2 in AI tasks and 50% more energy efficient.

Testing has been performed against a MacBook Pro with M1 Pro, 32GB of unified memory and 1TB of SSD storage running macOS Monterey. That is to say, he has compared a chip to come with one that is already there and that is not Apple's most powerful. Even so, the figures are dizzying and that supposes a great alternative for users.

We'll see what happens when Apple announces its new chips. In March 2023 we will have to review this entry. The best is that there is competition and that always benefits us.
