If you are a switcher, one of the things you may miss is that Mac OS X does not offer hibernate mode by default, although it does support it, so we have to resort to third-party applications to be able to make this mode effective on the Mac.
I remind you that the hibernation mode is the same as the Sleep mode of the Mac, except that the data in the RAM memory is copied to the hard disk to be able to disconnect the power, so the computer does not use battery. Obviously this is safer and does not use electricity but it is much slower to turn off and start.
I personally use it daily at night for a long time or if I am going to be more than 1-2 hours without using the Mac, since I consider it quite useful.
