Apple already has its "Developer Transition Kit" ready

Kit

One of the surprises of the Keynote Yesterday is seeing how advanced Apple has in changing the processors of its Intel computers to its own ARM chips. In recent weeks it was speculated if it would be true that Apple would finally begin this transition of processors, laborious, complicated, and with a view to the long term.

The confidentiality clauses must be very high, because many people are involved in this project, and the leaks were minimal. And not only with the workers of the company. Yesterday it was announced that companies such as Microsoft and Adobe are already working on software for macOS Big Sur running on a A12Z Bionic.

It was the surprise of the afternoon. See how advanced the project is Apple silicon. So much so that Apple has already released a kit for developers to start programming directly on ARM hardware.

To begin with, the "chosen" developers who want such a kit must sign up for Quick Start and receive the team to work with their developments. These machines have the chassis of the Mac mini and they are based on an Apple A12Z accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD with the beta version of macOS Big Sur pre-installed and also the Xcode development platform.

This called «Developer Transition Kit»And it costs $ 500. This $ 500 will serve as an escrow deposit, which will be returned when the Mac is returned to Apple after the transition program is completed.

According to Apple, the developers can now request a "Developer Transition Kit" and they will start shipping next week.

All the specs of this very special Mac mini are:

  • Apple A12Z Bionic (from iPad Pro 2020)
  • 16 GB of RAM
  • 500GB SSD
  • Two USB-C ports (up to 10 Gbps)
  • Two USB-A ports (up to 5 Gpbs)
  • HDMI 2.0 port
  • Wi-Fi 802.11ac
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • Gigabit Ethernet

Availability is limited. Apple will prioritize developers who already have macOS apps published in the Store. The show starts.
