Apple and Prepear Reach Agreement on Pear-Shaped Logo Trademark

Prepear Logo

Some time ago we told you that Apple had sued a company called Prepear because their logo was too similar to the company's. Have you ever heard the expression: it looks like a pear to an apple? Well that's the fact. Prepear has as a logo a pear and Apple an apple. The problem lies not in the shape of the logo but in how it is made. The fact is that both companies have reached an agreement on the litigation.

Apple thought and should not be wrong judging by the news of the agreement, that the logo of the Prepear company was very similar to the apple, even if it is a pear, because the minimalism with which it is made, the lines used and others could come to think that it is a copy. After lawsuits and clarifications before the courts, it seems that both companies have reached an agreement. They chose to try to solve it out of court and it seems that the thing has worked. That agreement is beneficial to both parties and It does not require a sacrifice for either very large company.

Apple will allow the pear company to continue using its logo as long as it makes a change to it. A very subtle change. New documents filed with the Patents and Trademarks Unit show that Apple has already consented to the deal, which was later confirmed by Prepear co-founder Russ Monson. He stated that the only request for the logo to be approved was change the drawn sheet.

A change more than enough for Apple And it will not be too much of a disservice to the company that is dedicated to offering healthy recipes and a digital shopping list through a mobile application. We assume that the agreement will be effective shortly and the Apple against Prepear issue will be shelved, hopefully forever.
