Apple buys classical music streaming service Primephonic

Apple Music sued for unfair competition

A new purchase related to services arrives at Apple this last week of August, in this case it's about the classical music streaming service Primephonic. Many of you are sure that you already know this classical music service, but for those who do not know it, it must be said that it is a service that offers an exceptional listening experience with searches and navigation optimized for this musical genre and logically a sound of premium quality.

The classical music streaming service Primephonic in the hands of Apple

With the addition of Primephonic, Apple Music subscribers will benefit from vast improvements in listening to classical music. Oliver Schusser himself, Apple's vice president of Apple Music and Beats, commented at the time of purchase of the service:

We love and have great respect for classical music, and Primephonic has become a favorite of music lovers who love this genre. Together, we're bringing great new features to Apple Music, with an exclusive classical music experience coming soon that will undoubtedly be the best in the world.

For his part, co-founder and CEO of Primephonic, Thomas Steffens, commented:

Bringing the best of Primephonic to Apple Music subscribers is a tremendous advance for classical music. Artists love Primephonic's service and what we've accomplished for the industry, and now we can team up with Apple to bring the best possible experience to millions of people. We have the opportunity to bring classical music to the general public and to connect a new generation of performers with a new generation of listeners.

Primephonic is no longer available to new subscribers and will stop offering service as of September 7. Apple Music has plans to launch a dedicated app next year that will combine the Primephonic user interface for classical music loved by fans with additional features. Meanwhile, current Primephonic subscribers will receive six months of Apple Music for free..
