Apple cancels the premiere of the movie the Banker

The Banker

In Apple's streaming video service, we are not only going to enter series (although like the rest of streaming video services it is its main attraction), but we are also going to find both films and documentaries. One of the first movies to be available will be The Bankers.

Apple had planned to officially release this film at the AFI Fest held in Los Angeles, to later hit theaters on December 6. However, it seems that due to last minute problems, Apple has decided to cancel the premiere. Your place in this festival it has been replaced by the Netflix movie Marriage Story.

Apple bought the movie The Banker earlier that year, due the moving and educational character that tells about social change and financial education. Last week, they were told (it does not specify who) some concerns about the film, so together with the producers they have decided to take some time and carefully examine those doubts and determine what are the best steps to follow.

According to Deadline, the problems referred to by Apple are related to the charges that have recently been discovered against a member of the Garretts family, charges that are potentially damaging to the film.

The Banker, played by Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult and Nia Long was scheduled to hit theaters on December 6, to shortly after doing it on your streaming video service.

The film, based on a true story, does not show the risky plan that Bernard Garret (Mackie) and Joe Morris (Jackson) created by hiring a white man Matt Stener (Hoult) to pretend to be the head of their business empire while they were making themselves go through counselors and drivers in order to help the African American working class in the 50s to get decent housing.
