Apple rightly defends itself against the alleged failure of Face ID in the keynote

It has been two days since Apple's keynote and this time we are seeing as part of the press and various media are looking and looking for the three feet to the cat in the Failure of the Face iD detection that happened to Craig Federighi, in full presentation.

No one can say that this new security system used in the new iPhone X, called Face ID, is perfect, as everything has a margin of error and it is quite certain that it will ever have to fail. On this occasion, personally speaking, I think it is more an organizational failure of Apple than of the Face ID system itself, the problem is that it was live while it was being presented and this is what arouses doubts among users.

But let's get into the background. The new iPhone X was already presented and Federighi appeared on stage to show attendees and the rest of the world how easy it was to unlock the iPhone with this new technology called Face ID. Right at the first moment the iPhone X does not unlock And although it is true that Federighi solves the ballot very well and is quick to take the other iPhone from the lectern to show the unlocking, the error is recorded and from that moment doubts arise. You can see this moment in the presentation of Apple moving time up to 1:31 min.

Now we have the error located and on the big screen you can see what the iPhone says: "Your passcode is required to enter Face ID" which means that the iPhone X was blocked because someone tried to use Face ID before without having registered his face until he blocked it and it was impossible for Federighi or anyone else to unlock that iPhone X without entering the numeric code. This is something similar to what happens when we turn off a current iPhone with Touch ID, a MacBook Pro, etc. First, before working, it requires the numeric unlock code to later be able to use the Touch ID.

Now the company in a statement to the media explains the problem and it seems more than clear seeing the subsequent videos in the "hands-on" that this new Face ID works very well, we repeat, it may have failures like everything in this world but The moment of the keynote did not fail the sensor, the organization of the keynote failed because more people fiddled with the iPhone X that Federighi had to unlock and in the end it was blocked waiting for the numeric code at the worst time.

Logically we will have thousands of tests once it is launched on the market and the error in the keynote is marked, but I repeat, more than a sensor failure it is a failure of the event organization that left that iPhone X locked. We don't even want to imagine the one that the good old Federighi would mount behind the scenes ...
