Apple just announced another step in international expansion in its Developer Academy program. After opening a new academy in South Korea earlier this year, the company will build the first headquarters in Apple Developer Academy in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The news has been confirmed by the local newspaper Saudi WIPO Gazette., which explains that Riyadh will be the first city in the Middle East to have an Apple Developer Academy institution. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al Swaha She said that, initially, the program will focus on supporting the inclusion of women in the fields of technology and design.
Abdullah Al-Swaha thanked the Apple Developer Academy for choosing Saudi Arabia to be the first country in the MENA region to host a global Apple programming and development academy.
Apple will bring the program to Saudi Arabia through a partnership with the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP) through the Tuwaiq Academy and Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University.
It has not transpired by any of the parties when they will have planned the inauguration of said educational center, but it is most likely that it will be for the middle of the next year.
