Apple expands the catalog of its future VOD service acquiring new rights

To this day, few are the followers of Apple, who if they are regularly kept informed about the current situation of this company, do not have knowledge about the expansion plans it has in the streaming video market. The first step was taken with the launch of Apple Music in 2015. The second could be taken in March of next year at the earliest.

While that date arrives, Apple has not only begun the production of a score of its own series, some of them produced by big names in the film industry, but also is expanding the section on documentaries and films, a section that will also be present in the streaming video platform of the Cupertino-based company.

The guys from Tim Cook, have expanded this catalog, buying the rights to two new products that have been exhibited at the Toronto International Film Festival. The first of them "The Elephan Queen", shows us how an elephant matriarch leads her herd to a new place, where a water source is found, since they have been forced to leave where they were due to lack of water and that it will finally become your home.

The second title is an animated film created by Cartoon Saloon and Melusine Productions. The directors, Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart have been nominated twice for the Oscars of the Academy of Hollywood. That movie called Wolfwalkers shows us a young apprentice hunter named Robyn in a world full of superstitions.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, Apple's streaming video service could be officially presented in March of next year, although seeing the delays that Apple is having in many of its launches, we should not get too illusions about that date. In addition, the initial catalog will be much lower than the one we can find today on Netflix, HBO or Amazon Prime Video.
