Apple gives Mac mini server a vacation while disappointing with the new Mac mini

This year, finally, Apple has made a move regarding the Mac mini and is that after a long time, the smallest of the family is renewed. We have not attended to a total renovation of the hardware and its design, but only its hardware has been fine-tuned and of course, its price.

The fact is that in Keynote on October 16 we all sighed when we saw that the precious Mac mini were updated. Shortly after, what was the surprise when Apple announced that its price was also going down. What was not so clear was why the price drop. At the same time, while millions of users were focused on Keynote, its web page was updated and the Mac mini server model was removed.

Yes friends, Mac mini have been updated and it has taken time for users who have bought them to start pouring opinions on the network. On the one hand, the first thing that was leaked is that the model that Apple called Mac mini server, due to the amount of hard disk that could be put in, was eliminated from the web options. Now, the maximum storage that we offer is 1 TB and a maximum of 16 GB of RAM.

Later, when the new Mac mini was opened, users discovered an unpleasant surprise and that is that these new models have the RAM modules soldered to the board, canceling its possible post-purchase extension, so if you decide to buy the lowest in features, then you must die.

That is why after these movements by Apple we wonder if we are living the beginning of the end. This is a computer that in its basic model has a 5 GHz dual-core Intel i1.4 processor, 4 GB RAM and 500 GB of hard disk and all for 499 euros. A good price, but knowing that it can never be expanded.

The new models they can only incorporate Haswell dual-core processors.
