Apple is no stranger to small businesses with great potential, and according to reports from the NBC, the Cupertino-based company has again made a slightly unusual acquisition. According to a tweet sent by CNBC (we put the tweet after reading on), and another report published by 'The Wall Street Journal', Apple has acquired a company called emotient. It is a start-up of artificial intelligence, which is able to read emotions on the face of a person through the analysis of facial expressions.

For some time now, Emotient's technology has been used by some advertisers. emotient would use its technology to indicate through emotional reactions, if the reaction of an advertisement was positive or negative towards the viewer, in based on how viewers were reacting to the same ad.

As part of Apple's propaganda departments, when acquiring a company, it usually confirms that it has acquired said company, with which a spokesperson informed 'The Wall Street Journal' he had acquired Emotient with said communicator:
Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally don't provide the commitment and plans we have with that purchase.
As for what Apple plans to do with Emotient and its technology, or how much has been spent on its acquisition, it is not known at this time. However, this is the second company that Apple has recently acquired with a focus on facial recognition. In November as we told you in this article, Apple confirmed that it had acquired Faceshift, a company that uses technology to capture facial expressions using real-time 3D technology.
