Weeks go by and we can't stop talking about the new 2016 MacBook Pro. It is a team that has impacted for good in the world of consumer computing, now, we have to say that all the new features implemented as well as its final price they have not sat so well with the end users.

In this article what we are going to talk about is what Phil Schiller said in an interview in relation to the elimination of the SD card slot, a slot that was used by millions of MacBook Pro users, users who being more PRO they made use of cameras that have this type of card.

As you may already know, Apple has launched three new MacBook Pro models, two models with a 13-inch diagonal and one model with a 15-inch diagonal. In all three models, the new Thunderbolt 3 ports with USB-C standard, four of them in the 13 and 15-inch models with touch Bar and two ports on the 13-inch model without Touch Bar.

Now, although the three models incorporate new features in both hardware and design, what all three have in common is that the SD memory card reading slot has been eliminated in all three. Therefore there are many the users who have gone into a rage and it is that for them it is a very used port.

Before this question, Phil Schiller has answered that nowadays in the market there is no standard regarding memory cards and that is that there are SD memory cards or CompactFlash memory cards, among others, so it has been decided to eliminate the port so as not to satisfy only a part of the owners of a MacBook Pro.

The truth is that, at first glance, it does not seem like a compelling reason and it is that from my point of view there are many users who use SD cards, but it is also true that there are cables and adapters from SD to USB-C for what I do not see so much problem either where Apple has wanted to simplify the number of different ports its latest MacBook Pro has.

there are. a market not only for photographers, but for those of us who buy these jetdrive cards, to store information on macbooks with small solid state disks. If it makes me uncomfortable, it is not a problem without a solution. but it is uncomfortable to carry a cable for that purpose. The convenience of these cards was that they were perfectly integrated as part of the equipment. It would no longer be different from carrying around a sticky USB memory stick.

They have eliminated the slot to avoid that you use them as a hard disk with the nifty that you can always leave them mounted, even when mobile.
